Our History

We’ve always been passionate about making a difference in young lives. When we were founded in 1970, that meant serving a handful of teen boys on a single Goochland farm. Today, we reach over 600 boys and girls ages 4-21 through a continuum of care stretching from east of Richmond to west of Staunton.

Did you know?

The original Elk Hill was a small plantation home owned by Thomas Jefferson until it was occupied and burned by Cornwallis during the Revolutionary War. The current Greek Revival structure was built by the Harrison Family in the 1830’s and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
