Kira had experienced a lifetime’s worth of trauma in her 16 years. So many people she once trusted had betrayed or abandoned her.

Elk Hill has been doing good for 50 years! Our culture is all about living our values to achieve the goal of transforming lives. Because of that culture, our organization attracts very good people. These are people who lead their own values driven lives, both personally and professionally. The friendships I have made through Elk Hill have so enriched my life. Those friendships will last for the rest of my life.

I met the boys through a project called FutureEdge@Work, in which Capital One employees visited several Richmond area non-profits to learn about the needs in our community and the vital work that organizations like Elk Hill are doing to serve those needs.

The 2018 Elk Hill Summer Camp for 7th to 12th graders is going fantastically well.

With the help of Richmond artists, Nico Cathcart and, Shaylen Amanda Broughton, this installation will bring brightness and joy to the Harambee School and its students.
